A Rough Week

Hi Everyone,

We're sorry our blogging has been hit and miss lately. We've had a lot going on lately.

About two weeks ago I had my first prenatal appointment and the Dr. couldn't find the baby's heartbeat. I knew (after our whole ordeal with my pregnancy with Bethany) not to get overly emotional about it, knowing personally that the doctors have been wrong before...and that heartbeats can be hard to find. We had two additional ultrasounds done and blood work, all were unable to find the baby's heartbeat and appropriate hormone levels. During this time there had been no outward signs of a miscarriage. However, since the last ultrasound the Lord has made it clear that my body will not sustain this pregnancy.

Although we are sad that we will never be able to hold or know this precious child, we are not in despair. Our Great God is soverign, loving and just. We know that His purposes are at times beyond our understanding, but they are always for His glory and our good. We are at peace knowing that this child always was and is in His care. There is no doubt in our minds that the Lord has done what is best for the baby, my body, and our family.

This has been a bit of a rough week. We found out on Tuesday that Danny's Grandma Solberg was not doing well and had been admitted to the hospital. We made plans to drive down Tuesday evening to visit her, but before we could get to the hospital she passed away. She was a sweet, sweet lady who loved us and was loved by us very much. We will miss her....I know two men in my life who will greatly miss her "gardens" :)

We would ask that you would pray for Danny. His grandfather asked him to perform the ceremony on Saturday both at the chapel and graveside. Please pray that he would have clarity of thought and speech and that his sermon would convict the hearts of those whom the Lord would choose.

We would also ask that you pray for Luke he is having a hard time with the loss of the baby. He REALLY wanted another baby in our house. Please pray that he would be able to understand enough at the funeral tomorrow.

Please pray that my body would continue to complete the miscarriage properly, with no need for medical intervention.

Thank you for your prayers and your love for our family.

Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart may fail, But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Phil. 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Oh, I'm so sorry! What an awful week! Please give all the Steinmeyers and Kathy's family my love tomorrow. We can't make it to the funeral, but we're there in heart.

Oh Danielle, I'm so sorry for your guys' loss. We've been there before and it's a hard, hard time. Know that you're in our prayers and little Luke is too. We'll be praying that God will allow everything to happen naturally too, with no medical intervention. Tell Danny we're sorry about his Grandma. *big hugs*
